On Saturday Janurary 22nd from 4-6pm and Saturday, February 5th there will be a very cute shrug class. This class will teach you how to use your measurements and any guage to create a garnment that will fit. It's really interesting to wach it unfold and even more amazing how it all comes together at the end. This is a great project for all knitting levels. Any weight yarn, approx 1,000 to 1,500 yards, with an appropriate needle will work for this shrug so pull out all your stashed yarn and come on by to sign up for this class. Love is coming to Knitique this weekend. Join us for our monthly Washcloth event. We've scheduled it early enough that you can create several washcloths for those you want to share you love with. January Sweater class is right around the corner.

This month's sweater is a bottom up, in the round shawl collar cardigan and is just gorgeous and simple. The yarns are beautiful and come in a wide range of colors; from bright, to neutral and even some darker shades. There is truely a color for every wardrobe. This is a three session class either in the morning or afternoon and is $60 for all three. The morning classes will begin Tuesday January 11th from 10am to 12pm and continue the following two Tuesdays (1/18 and 1/25). The afternoon class begins Friday January 14th from 6 to 8pm and continue the following two Fridays (1/21 and 1/28). Welcome to 2011 everyone!

Tonight, Friday January 7th from 5-9, is our annual Knit and Nosh event. Bring an appetizer or something to share with the group and your knitting. Come socialize with some wonderful women and get a head start on your spring knitting projects. While in the shop, you can fondle all of the new yummy yarns our good looking UPS man, Joe, brought us over the past few days.

We recieved a lot of Trendsetter Yarns this week. New Frivola colors came in as well as some great and vibrant Minestrone colors. We also recieved some great Dune colors. There are some great pinks and reds for Valentine's day! Both of these great yarns pair wonderfully with Cha Cha to make the on the bias Vogue scarf. Dune also looks great by itself, Marilyn made a beautiful vest from the pink VERY VERY pretty!! Come on in and ask us all about these projects.

We are also expecting some new Lorna's Laces this week. There are a lot of great class projects made from this yarn. We look forward to seeing you in the coming days and hopefully tonight for Knit and Nosh.

These are gonna look fabulous all by themselves or with dune to make the vogue cha cha scarf. They are both easy and quick projects if you have someone on your list that needs a good gift. The nice thing about the yarn is they can be worn all year to add some glitz and glam to any outfit.

New Yarns, Late Night and New Sweater Class!!!

We have been such busy little elves this Holiday Season!! We had two big boxes of Lorna's Laces come in yesterday. Twenty- five new shepherd worsted colors, this is a very popular yarn and sells pretty quickly. This worsted weight yarn is good to make sweaters or stockings or mittens or scarves or anything your heart desires!!! Also we should be recieveing some more of the Cascade Covington today!! This is a chunky, wool/ acrylic blend that is maching washable. Only 34 days till Christmas! We have a few ideas for quick and easy knits. All of our turkey day classes are quick scarves to make as gifts. We also have a new scarf called Jerseylicious. This scarf is scrumptous tone on tone color using one skein of waterlilly and two skeins of Tonalita by Trendsetter yarn. This scarf is gorgeous wrapped as a cowl using a shawl pin. 39 Knitting Days until the Holidays

Quick Holiday Knit Project

Did you know there are only 39 days until Christmas? As a knitter this could strike terror in my heart as I'm contemplating all the gifts I still need to knit.

This year, I'm starting a new tradition. Each week I will be posting a project that will be perfect for the holidays. Plus it will take less than a night to knit, in fact this scarf takes only an hour or so. First up, easy, and yes people, I mean easy-peasy pumpkin-peasy scarves. If all you know how to do is knit, then you can do this scarf. The yarn is a plush microfiber. It's one of the scarves that were all the rage in Europe. What better way to finish a project then to knit it in an hour. You'll need 2-3 skeins of yarn and Size 10 & 13 needles.

Fruit Fancy Sweater

     Have you wanted to knit a sweater, but think it's too hard? This new sweater, is a figure flattering v-neck top down sweater. The latest sweater class for this month is called Persimmon. Thanksgiving Week Class number one is out and has been a real crowd please!! The yarn is fabulous and made out of different fibers such as silk, mohair, cashmere, merino, and glitz. This diagonal knit scarf and used two skeins of yarn. There are a wide range of colors from deep purple, moss green, midnight blue, denim blue, hot pink and many, many more. We just received a huge box of this yarn today. This scarf is going to be this season's hot holiday scarf. This class will take place on Friday, Saturday or Sunday from 10-12pm. Just a gentle reminder that this Friday night is Knit and Nosh is this Friday, November 5th from 5-9pm. This is our monthly social event, where we bring all bring a dish to share, a fun easy project to knit on and a need for some social time.

This Saturday, we've also got a FREE washcloth class. I designed a perfect, LITTLE washcloth, perfect for washing your face. I wanted this one to be small so you wouldn't have dripping all over your face. Plus they are tiny enough that you can do one for each of your friends, for a little Christmas Present. Amiee had already done 3 in a day or so. Easy, peasy. This washcloth class is scheduled Saturday, November 6th 3-5. We will be puttting a new schedule with this change up as soon as possible.

New Yarns Streaming In

The past few weeks we have had lots of new yarns come into the shop. We have the Classic Elite fall yarns. Most of these yarns are wool or wool blends and range from solid colors to tweed and semi solids. These yarns are also in many weights from Dk to worsted and heavy worsted. Each of these new lines also came with their own pattern books. We also had some beautiful Dk Frog Tree solids come in as well. From Trendsetter we recieved new Dune in white, It's really pretty and would make a very pretty shawl or sweater for chritsmas. There are also some great varigated yarns as well. Vigna is another of their new yarns which looks like chenille but its wool and acrylic. The most beautiful scarves have been made from this yarn as well as another that has a bit of gold glitz within the yarn. This is great to dress up a nice jacket or outfit as a scarf or shawl. It would also make a great and beautiful sweater.

In the wonderful world of baby we also recieved a new shipment of the Splash Dk in 7 different colors, this makes fabulous baby blankets and sweaters both knitted and crocheted. We also have some Spot on baby dk in 9 different colors. This one knits up as spots. Also makes great sweaters and blankets for the little baby in your life.

Calling all the washcloth lovers we have 25 new cotton colors from Swedish Yarns. One skein is usually enough to make 2 washcloths. The next free washcloth class will be November 20th from 3 to 5pm.

It's that time of year again where I offer our Famous "All Skills Classes" at a much reduced price. In this class, everyone works on whatever project they are working on, getting help where they need. Beautiful

There is nothing sweeter than seeing my hand knits on a beautiful baby girlie. It seems like a lifetime ago that my baby girl would wear whatever I knit. Now that she's a big 11 year old, she is choosy about what she wear. Even though I see her as a little girl, she's blossoming into a tall almost teen.

So knit the adorable cute Swing Coat while you can. Knit for your hope chest for that "someday" grandchild. I've got a chest full of hand knits for future grandchildren. There is something so satisfying about finishing a project lickety-split. Nothing faster to practice your growing knitting skills on.

All Skills Knitting Clinic

A new series of All Skills Knitting/Crochet Clinic starts next week. This is one of the most popular classes in our class line-up. It's been so popular we've had to add another day of classes. We consistently have people sign up for months at a time. I believe when you are in the shop on a regular basis and you have 2 hours of devoted time by a fabulous teacher you become a much better knitter. You are willing to try new projects because you have the safety net of having someone help you and fix your mistakes.

In September we will be offering the All Skills Knitting/Crochet Clinic four days a week.

New Books

Calling all book lovers!!

This week has been a busy one with new books to come into the shop. In the last two days we have received 4 new books. There is a fabulous new Debbie Bliss book called, The Knitter's Year. This one is sectioned off by season which is great when you want to make something a few seasons before to use or wear later. This is great for Christmas gifts as well.

If you enjoyed Last Minute Knitted gifts than you are really going to enjoy the second in this series. More Last Minute knitted gifts gives you a wide range of ideas to make for all your family and friends as well as yourself. This book has sections based on time so if you only have a few hours it will give you great ideas for projects.

For all of you Washcloth lovers there is a new book called, More than a dozen dishcloths. This has some really great dishcloths with a "scrubby" type side and a "softer" side. This is a great book to make up some great dishcloth and soap baskets as gifts

Christmas is around the corner and we have a new Christmas stocking book that is flying off the shelves. So come on down and check it out, Christmas is just around the corner and now is a great time to think about all those little ones in your family who are in need of a Christmas stocking for Santa to fill with all of his goodies. Washcloth of the month class

Good Afternoon Everyone!

The Washcloth of the Month class is coming up this Saturday, August 21st from 3 to 6pm.

This month we will be doing a mystery pattern. If you are a bit curious to what it will look like then sign up for the class and come join us for an afternoon of fun knitting. Movie night is coming up again, this month the movie of choice is Eat Pray Love with Julia Roberts. Come join the fun on Saturday August 21st, 6pm after the mystery washcloth class. We will be meeting at the shop and then off to the movie and possibly dinner beforehand. See you all there!
