New Classes at Knitique!

The weather has turned cool and rainy again. These classes would be great projects with a cup of tea, while listening to the rain drum down.

 

First up we have a beautiful crochet Easter basket that will make your favorite little one light up as they dig through their goodies. This FREE Class is Tuesday, April 1st and 8th from 6-8pm.

 

Saturday, April 5th from 11-1pm is the luscious, lightweight Spring Cowl! Knit with a bouncy yarn like Milla Mia, you'll be wearing this Spring weather knit every day!

Also on Saturday is the Kelly Scarf, a delicate knit out of the wonderful new yarn Meadowlark from Classic Elite Yarns. Class is from 1-3pm. This is a two part class that will continue on April 19th.

Adorable Layered Sun Dress Class

Everyone who sees this adorable little girl's dress has been in love with it. Knit in layers, this project includes a few new techniques to advance your knitting skills. New Meow Collection Yarns

When Danielle first found this yarn by Ancient Arts Fibre Crafts, we couldn't wait for it to arrive. This yarn is 100% Blue Faced Leicester superwash wool, and comes in a beautiful variety of colors known as the Meow Collection. Each color is modeled after different cats; calicos, tabbies, Himalayans, and more. What we love most about this yarn is their purpose. For each skein of this wonderful yarn sold, a portion of the sales is donated to the Meow Foundation and the Best Friends Animal Society. New Class: All Skills Crochet!

All Skills Knitting is a class that has been a success, and now we want to bring that same All Skills environment to our crochet customers. Maybe you have been stuck on a project because the pattern doesn't make sense, or you've never done a crochet cable but want to learn how. Whatever the reason, you may need a little help advancing your crochet skills. So now we bring you All Skills Crochet! In February, this class is Thursday, February 6th and 27th from 11-1pm. Winter Olympics 2014!

The Winter Olympics begin February 7th.

Inspired by the chevron pattern in Charlie Brown's sweater, and updated to fit modern style, Charlie B. is a great first fair isle project. Facile- Surprisingly Simple

FREE Class next week

Design number 2 to be put on Ravelry this week is Facile. Facile can be converted from a scarf into a cowl, or it makes a lovely scarf. Knit out of S. Charles, Sadé on a 9 needle. Sadé is a nice cotton blend with a little bit of sheen on the ends of this ribbon yarn. I love the way this yarn looks when knit.

Even more exciting is we are teaching this class for FREE next week at Knitique. We have three classes available. Tuesday, September 3rd 12-2 or 6-8 and Saturday, September 7th, 3-5. I can take up to 10 students in each class but expect to have them fill up quickly, so give us a call at 916.714.7719 to save your spot.

New Designs from our Boutique

We've been hard at work this past week getting our designs up on Ravelry. We have so many more to put up but given how busy we've been at Knitique lately we will be adding our patterns daily to our Ravelry Store.

Presenting our newest Design, Fishnets

Fishnets, is a lightweight cowl, made with a yarn that is perfect for warmer days and soft, cool nights. The alpaca makes a beautiful halo, the linen gives it a crisp and firm hand and the wool provides stability and its own level of softness. As with any yarn with linen, the more you wash it the better it becomes. Our sample was washed 2 times before we wore it and all my customers were amazed at the difference in texture. It could also be made out of Firefly which is a linen rayon blend that will provide the needed drape and softness.

Who Dreams in Color?

It’s time to get yourself signed up for 6 more months of gorgeous yarn and fun patterns in  Dream in Color's Dream Club! This is our third year of participating, and we've had  many of you have been asking about when this year's club starts.


The shipments will go out the first week in September, October, November, December, January and February. The prices ranges from $35 – $45 per month (plus applicable tax and shipping), depending on the yarn base featured that month. Just a hint: September's yarn has cashmere in it. We've talked to Veronica about some of the new yarns they have coming up this year for the club, and you’re sure to love them! Plus, they seem to come up with  the most amazing colors especially for their Dream Club yarns. This is a great way to get some beautiful things knit up for gifts for the upcoming holiday season.

We don’t require payment ahead of time. We will email you or call you when the shipment is ready each month and we will take payment at that time. Limited Edition Needles

Today on the UPS truck we received an shipment of limited edition needles from ChiaoGoo today.  These limited edition needles are made from bamboo and are works of art.  The handcrafted needles feature Find A Cure, I Love Knitting and a gorgeous blue and white floral pattern. Litoral Sparkle Cowl

Shapely Tank and Tee Class

This Friday night I will be teaching the Shapely Tank or Tee pattern.  I've been wearing three sweaters this spring knit from this pattern and I get compliments all the time.  The biggest reason for all the compliments is they fit.  The curved shape at the bottom and the short rows make this sweater fit your body perfectly, so it will be figure flattering.  No matter the size of your girls, this sweater will fit you.  I wanted to offer this class so that all of you could have beautiful fitted sweaters that make you feel beautiful and get you lots of compliments.  Class starts this Friday August 9th from 6-8pm, and continues August 16th and 23rd from 6-8pm.  Give us a call or come in to sign up.  (916) 714-7719
